Un amico irlandese, Tony, mi ha inviato alcune belle foto scattate durante il suo giro lungo 100 km. - con la splendida e-bike Kalkhoff Pro-Connect XTR - effettuato domenica 2 settembre :

Elettrociclista dal 2012 al 2016 con Bottecchia Be2.
Ritorno in bici con una muscolare dal 2019 con BTwin Hoprider 100.
Ritorno in bipa con Accolmile Bafang M200 (estate 2022)
Attualmente in sella a una e-mtb Raymon Hardray E3.0 hardtail
Anche in sella alla gradevole muscolare bicicletta Scott Sub Men per variegate avventure |

grazie a Tino e all'amico irlandese ma il tempo non è sempre così, anzi...
l'estate che io attraversai l'Irlanda, in auto e non in Kalkhoff, il tempo era di un bel grigio grigio... |
BH Emotion Xenion Jumper 27.5 del 2017 con Bosch Performance CX e batteria da 500Wh+extender da 200Wh, bipa da...trekking estremo!
ma ancora la vecia BH Emotion City 650 Man del 2010 convertita a MTB sistema Panasonic 26V batteria 10Ah ricellata nel 2018, 7 marce con corona da 41 e pacco pignoni 11-34, ruote da 26" (tutta mia!)
una batteria da 16Ah Flyer ricellata a fine 2021 come ricambio per le gite più impegnative (la 18Ah Derby del 2012 l'ho regalata)
Kalkhoff Agattu del 2012 con Nexus da 7 marce, batteria 26V 8Ah, per la moglie (ma ogni tanto...)
MTB Btwin con ruote da 26" (era del figlio, ex ottimo accompagnatore in gite per città e campagna ma ormai la usa una volta l'anno...)
pieghevole Faram Alloy con ruote da 20" e cambio 6 marce
biciclette muscolari varie per tutta la famiglia di seconda o terza mano
...e da maggio 2025 una Scott Strike 910evo con Bosch e batteria da 750Wh!
e mi hanno rubato una Kalkhoff Agattu del 2008 con Panasonic 26V batteria 10Ah,ruote da 28", Nexus 7 sp.(era della moglie, ma ogni tanto ...)
e due E-Sun pieghevoli con ruote da 20" 6V (una per me e una per la moglie)

Che posti meravigliosi, adoro il Nord Europa, avrei pure voglia di farci le ferie, ma appunto il brutto tempo è sempre in agguato, e l'idea di farmi 10 giorni di pioggia su 2 settimane di ferie, come mi è già successo in Norvegia, mi trattiene dal tornarci.
Certo che quando il tempo è bello i posti sono veramente stupendi |

Grazie a tutti per i commenti (spero che Tony li legga).
Sicuramente in Irlanda un clima così soleggiato è abbastanza raro vederlo, ma questa estate ci ha riservato dei periodi molto lunghi di sole ed è probabile che l'influsso africano sia arrivato fino ad interessare il nord-europa.

Inserisco il sintetico resoconto di viaggio che mi ha inviato Tony:
"I started out from the town in which I live called Naas. From there I cycled east to the next town, Blessington, where I turned south on a busy road known as the N8.
I traveled this road for about 15 km until I came to a signpost for, Hollywood, yes Hollywood. It is a small village at the base of the Wicklow mountains, and it was at this stage of the journey that I began to encounter the steepest hills of the trip, getting a good run at them and switching to high assist made it easier than I first thought. I was very pleased with that.
After getting up and over these initial hills, the terrain leveled off somewhat, but I was still climbing and eventually I arrive at the highest point of the journey where there is a viewing area where one can look and take photos of the surrounding scenery, This place is known as the Wicklow gap.
From here on it was downhill all the way to my destination,Glendalough. So much so that I reached a top speed of 58.3 km/ph. I was glad I had good brakes on the bike.
Glendalough is a huge tourist attraction. Thousand of people from different countries visit here every year.
My return journey was just as enjoyable. A long hill climb from Glendalough back up to the Wicklow gap. The photo of the bike was taken just below "the gap" on the Glendalough side. It was down hill again for the most part back to Hollywood and eventually home.
50km to Glendalough and 50km back.
A great day of cycling altogether.
